Before BC 2000, crude shells were circulated as coins in nearly all parts of China. But crude shells were not easy to get at that time. So some small kindoms tended to cast bronze shells to be circulated as coins, while the crude shells were circulating at the same time. And after BC 2000, the spade coin and round coin came into circulation. So the bronze coin went out of history. But in the numismatic research, bronze coin is very important. It is the intergradation between crude shell coins and spade coins/round coins. Catalogue No: H1.1 (Hartill's). This shell coin is like the H6.17, but not the H6.17. Weight: 1.96 grams.
